Our History
How we started
After hearing herself be referred to as “The Carpet Lady” in many people’s homes when she arrived, she decided that was to be the name of the business! Then came the big purple van branding which helped this become a well-known local business in Bournemouth and Poole.
The Carpet Lady started off in an office in Sandy’s house, once established it then outgrew this and moved to a shop just a few doors down.
After a couple of years there the business had a bigger need for storage and space so a move from the shop to the Unit at 29 Slader Business Park, Witney Road Nuffield allowed both office and storage space along with a Show Room. Having a larger storage space at the Unit, has allowed The Carpet Lady business to offer better deals by enabling space to order more stock and rolls at cheaper rates, and these savings are passed down to customers.
Meet the Team:
Sandy heads up the team, and has over 35 years of experience in the industry.
Zoe is Sandy’s daughter who has been a member of The Carpet Lady team since 2018 and has picked up a lot of the industry knowledge along the way.
Kellie joined at the beginning 2022 and slotted perfectly into the team straight away. She is a favorite with the customers and has a great eye for design and has been very quick to learn all the aspects of the industry.

Wow! What a gem! I would thoroughly recommend this lady's business to show you many samples of carpets from her very large van, (a mobile shop, if you like!) to give you the best advice and suggestions, with great quotes, resulting in an excellent fitting service by her team, (Sandy Collins.) As you can see, I chose the softest, cream carpet for my vintage - styled bedroom from the 'Abingdon' range, with the softest of, 'I adore'. So soft to the feet, you will not want to wear any slippers! Skillful, polite, clean and tidy fitters, that I would welcome back again for the next room to be carpeted, after that has been decorated.

The Carpet Lady is highly recommended. Kellie efficiently measured the areas, brought samples and gave quotes on the same day. Fitting date was about 15 days after the measurement. I deliberately split my flooring to two stages as I got the best quote in the whole area, and I wasn’t sure about the result yet. Once my first floor and stairs carpet had been done, I returned to them to have my ground floor LVT done, because I was surprised and happy with the result. And again, I couldn’t be happier with the result. The person who fitted the carpet and the LVT, Nick, was hardworking, efficient and friendly.

The Carpet Lady offers a brilliant service. Sandy efficiently measured the areas, brought samples and gave helpful advice about hard flooring. Gave quotes on the spot and booked a date same day. The person who fitted the floor was hardworking, friendly and efficient and re-floored my large bedroom and landing in one day. He did an excellent job and I couldn't be more pleased with the result. It has transformed my flat and was a very reasonable price many thanks to Sandy and Nick.

I have recently had my carpet fitted by The Carpet Lady. Now I don't normally give reviews but this company deserves it. From start to finish the experience/ service was amazing. From asking for a quote in which they came to my flat, measured themselves and came with an array of samples to choose from. The quote I must say puts everyone else to shame. I did change my mind they sent a re quote and within the week my carpet was put down. Massive Thank you to Kellie and Lewis the fitter. Don't go to the sheds go with this company, I can assure you you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Sandy came to my home with samples of exactly what I was looking for and made it really simple to choose (unlike the complete overwhelm I had when going into a carpet warehouse!). She did all the measuring and gave us a brilliant price and it was all clear and simple. We booked it in and her guys came out and went above and beyond to fit it all for us. They even worked around our baby napping, cleaned up afterwards and helped with extra grippers and door adjustments. Absolutely brilliant service, I'd recommend her so highly my mum is even getting her carpets done through the Carpet Lady!

Lovely home visit with really good swatch samples for a no fuss well priced quotation. The kind of service you would hope for from an independent specialist. The Carpet Lady went through carpets they had in stock, carpets they could do a special deal on & it made the home visit super enjoyable. Carpet was ordered, delivery & fit date booked, I needed to change the date due to work schedule & even that was flexible & effortless. I had my carpet fitted today & I couldn't be happier with the results. Fitter was friendly, fast & fabulous. Thank you for a job well done 🙂
